When you have a strong foundation of self love you live from and make your choices from the very core of your whole, healed heart fully unleashed and self expressed soul. And I also know that there's a stigma around therapy in the black community, and there had been for a long time, especially for black women. We're so strong, because of all that we have been put through, and how little we're sought after and looked out for. I know how difficult it is to “just love yourself” in a society in which the media tells us that we don't have enough money for that.
This can be difficult for someone who habitually thinks negatively of themselves, but try to find one positive thing about yourself to add to the list once a week. At the end of each day, reflect on your entire list. A structured experience with steps that, by committing to, will begin to create a lasting change in your life.



After I move to a different city or buy that house or take that vacation. Too often we view happiness as conditional—something we achieve through external events and goods.
